Following the massive reaction to Conranks last remix of Snow Patrol’s “Set The Fire To The 3rd Bar” he’s returned to a more typical source of inspiration for his latest remix. This time putting his own take on P Money’s ‘Turn it Up feat. Tyna’ and the reactions have been good again.
Conrank’s EP on Suicide Dub is expected to come out any day now, and he’s just had another track signed to Will Bailey’s Simma label. As well as his solo work, he’s currently working on a collaboration with Figure. As soon as we can, we’ll be posting links to listen to those tracks as soon as we can of course, but in the meantime, get down to the sound of Conrank messing with P Money at the link below – you can of course download it to play yourself!

Conrank wasn’t back at his studio long before he got all productive. Inspired by his time on the road and heeding some good advice, Conrank got right back in the studio and put together this rather beautiful drumstep reworking of a rather beautiful original track.
Snow Patrol & Martha Wainwright’s ‘Set the Fire to the 3rd Bar’ is not the most obvious choice for a remix, but Conrank has done good things with this. Keeping the original vibe of the tune strong throughout, Conrank adds and edits to the song in subtle layers which enhance the track giving it a harder edge.
This isn’t so much for the dancefloor, but it’s a fine remix all the same and we like it. And you can have it for free… happy days.
Conrank return to European shores for a brief trip in April with limited dates available. In the meantime enjoy this…

February has been a busy month for Conrank. It kicked off when he joined the likes of Blu Mar Ten, Tunnidge and Kode9 invited to produce a KongKast podcast.
Another strong release on his Rankadank label, including his own remix of Koya’s ‘Save Me’ (released 17th Feb) plus a successful UK tour which saw him playing alongside Reso, Sigma and Need For Mirrors, have enhanced further his position as one of the leading players in the drumstep scene.
With the release of his ‘Next Step’ EP scheduled for release around April 2011 on Suicide Dub, Conrank is heading back to his Shanghai studio and for more gigs throughout Asia, before returning to Europe from 15th April – 8th May 2011 for DJ shows to support the release of the EP.
With all this on his plate he still managed to find time to put together this awesome DJ mix showcasing some of the tracks from the Next Step EP alongside some unreleased material and a selection of the tracks that have been featuring in his club sets recently.
