If 2011 isn’t the chinese year of the Stag, then someone forgot to tell Stagga.  With his first release on Starkey’s Slit Jockey label “Genik Riddim” making a huge amount of noise and getting great reactions on dancfloors across the globe and the release date for his new album on Rag & Bone being announced imminently, the year has begun with a flurry of last minute studio action, mixing and mastering the final touches for tracks which will be transformed into a wave of releases over the course of the next 6 months.

With a huge US tour confirmed for next month (thats february 2011 to anyone reading this retrospectively), an ever increasing list of european dates throughout march and april, before he heads back down under for a tour of New Zealand and Australia this summer,  Stagga somehow found time to put together this new ‘mixtape’.
Actually, we really had to bug him for it, but it was worth the effort – this is a real good dubstep mix typical of his sound right now.

Enjoy Stagga responsibly!  Here is the set list:

Stagga has been deep in the studio throughout the summer, pushing his studio equipment to its limits of production and has come up for air armed with a huge bag of original material to unleash over the coming months.  Alongside releases on Starkey’s ‘Slit Jockey’ label, he’s also handed over a bunch of tracks to the guys at Rag & Bone records who will release a Stagga album currently slated for release in January 2011.

With so many tracks to choose from the final track list for the album has not been confirmed, however we can inform you that ‘Dragon‘ and ‘Dirty Sydney‘ will both feature on the album alongside ‘Chilsky’ and some special guest MCs and collaborators.  Sounds exciting!  Here is a clip of Chilski to whet the appetite.

Stagga’s popular ‘Face gets Splat’ track has also been licensed to Ministry of Sound Dubstep compilation ‘Adventures in Dubstep‘, so its all go for the Welshman from Berlin!

Stagga’s new track “Dragon” is so fresh out the studio, he hasn’t even got the masters back yet and its already getting radio airplay and support from DJs including Kanji Kinetic amongst others.  He’s also being courted by various labels to sign and put out the track.  But with promises of an album release forthcoming on Rag & Bone Records, he might be keeping the Dragon for that.

STAGGA - NON ALCOHOLIC RIDER MIX TRACKLIST

To celebrate (or perhaps commiserate) the removal of all things alcoholic from his rider, Stagga has come through with a new DJ mix featuring some currently unreleased material including the huge Dirty Sydney by the man himself.
Stagga continues to spread his sound far and wide with shows all over the UK and Europe as well as some more exotic locations including Jerusalem and a tour of New Zealand and Asia lined up for summer 2010.

Best served without alcohol, as the stars of this viral video for Dirty Sydney demonstrate rather nicely…
