Tunnidge needs little introduction: one of the few producers to have two releases on the seminal Deep Medi imprint, the first to be signed to Chestplate Records following Distance’s expansion of the label and co-owner of Origin Audio alongside Cyrus. With regular appearances on Get Darker as well a full and busy bookings schedule – which will take him to the states this Autumn – Tunnidge is somewhat of a looming figure on the Dubstep scene. Able to build both powerful, tear-out tunes popular in the club environment as well as darker, more contemplative production, his beats often tread the surprisingly fine line between Jump-up and deep relaying a real sense of momentum to any listener. Tunnidge has contributed the 21st mix in our ever-expanding feature series as well as finding the time to answer a few of our questions. Enjoi:
Tunnidge releases “Control” (above) and “Decay” (below) on Get Darker (GDKR002) next month.
The next single release from the label that brought you the top selling dubstep album of the year ‘This Is Dubstep 2011″ is a typically heavyweight release which has recieved massive support from an impressive list of names including Skream & Benga on Radio 1, Mala (Digital Mystikz), NType & Distance on Rinse FM, Hatcha on Kiss FM, and Mista Jam, J-Kenzo and True Tiger on BBC Radio 1xra, Cyrus, Mark Pritchard, Goth Trad, Darkside and Joe Nice.

Tunnidge continues to exert his evil influence on the dubstep scene with tracks on Deep Medi and Chestplate out now.
Like any good overlord, his presence is felt in an ever increasing number of places and ways – spreading to new record labels and infiltrating record boxes, club sets and mix cds all over the place. The aptly naamed ‘Puppet Masters’ remix b/w ‘Ghost Dance’ (Origin Audio 002) is out now.
Of particular note is the new ‘Dubstep Allstars Volume 8′ mixed by Distance, which features a couple of Tunnidge tracks alongside a list of other notable dubstep heavyweights including Benga, Cyrus, Distance and Pinch.
Tunnidge’s next release comes on Get Darker 002 in September festuring tracks entitled ‘Control’ and ‘Decay’ – listen to clips below.
There’s also an interview with Tunnidge over at the HEDMUK blog.
You have been warned, Tunnidge is taking over…
