Since the release of Gangsters and Knuckle Sandwich a couple months back it’s been non-stop for the dreadlocked Fin having played everywhere from Sicily to Moscow to London and Dublin. The releases gained overwhelming support from the likes of Annie Mac, Sinden, Switch & Crookers, tipped by Annie Mac as “MASSIVE”, he hasn’t disappointed, and even had the crowd chanting his name at Annie Mac presents in Cardiff. with his current release out on Cheap Thrills and remixes for Trouble & Bass and his new label Bass = Win in the pipeline, things are getting bigger for Rico Tubbs.

There is no rest for the wicked as far as Rico Tubbs is concerned.
His remix of Mighty Fools ‘Tonight” is on sale now, his reworking (with Will Power) of the Prodigy’s ‘No Good’ is all over the blogs and the buzz is building about the new Rico Tubbs ‘Tubbstep EP’ on Bass = Win.
The ‘No Good’ remix has had over 1500 downloads and nearly 4000 plays on soundcloud alone in only 1 month – the response has been awesome.

His DJ diary is packed until February 2011 with a tour of Australia confirmed for Christmas and New Year alongside UK & European dates – the video above shows exactly why he is so popular all over the world.

Following the success of “Heavyweight Champions of the World” (Rico Tubbs vs Calvertron) on Trouble & Bass (April 2010), Rico Tubbs set off to the colonies once again for a packed run of USA dates last month. This time round saw Rico hit some of the rowdiest spots in LA (Dim Mak/Avalon), San Francisco and of course the Trouble & Bass party in New York with label mate Calvertron.

As you can see from the videos below Rico delivered the goods in his usual fine style…

Rico Tubbs took Australia by storm on his November 2009 tour and bagged #5 in the ‘Best gig of the year” poll for Street Music magazine for his gig at The Espy in Melbourne.  With only Nas, Ghostface Killah, Claude Von Stroke and La Roux ahead of him in the vote, he’s in good company.  This video is from the Melbourne party – check it out.
