A unique producer with a unique style, Goth-Trad has emerged from the Japanese electronic scene in the last few years as one of the most arresting artists from his generation. Freely playing samplers, keyboards and even self-made instruments, ‘The Sound Originator’ Goth-Trad creates remarkable dance music with an abstract approach. He debuted on UK labels Skud Beats and Deep Medi Musik, with two 12” releases that quickly sold out; Rebel Familia released a new album, including collaborations with legends Arie Up and Max Romeo, and toured the release; in March he opened for Mala during the Japanese leg of the DMZ tour, in May he played alongside Skream in Tokyo, and in July he toured the country again alongside Kode 9 and The Bug; in addition to all this he’s also been collaborating with various artists on future projects, including Distance. Faze 2 are please to be bringing Goth Trad back to the UK and Europe around October 2010.
Goth Trad releases ‘Airbreaker’ through Deep Medi and this is the video for the track, which is taken from the album ‘New Epoch’ also released on Deep Medi Musik. ’Airbreaker’ is backed with ‘Cosmos’.
With the album due to hit the shelves imminently, Resident Advisor got together with Goth Trad to talk about the album, dubstep and life in Japan after the March 2011 earthquake.
Goth Trad comes back to Europe on tour in from 1st March – 9th April 2012.

Goth Trad gets to grips with Pampidoo’s ‘Synthesizer Voice’ for his next single, released on the hugely respected Greensleaves Records 23rd May 2011.
Unleashing a vocal version and a dub version, Goth Trad turns the track into a seething dubstep monster matching the synthesized vocal with some equally eerie darkness of his own giving the remixes a sinister edge.
With an EP coming soon on Deep Medi Music Goth Trad continues to build on his reputation as one of the most essential dubstep artists on the scene.

It seems that N-Type’s last show on RinseFM was a bit of a Faze 2 fest! Kicking off with the fine mix from CRST which we posted up here just yesterday, N-Type ended the show by inviting Goth Trad into the studio to take over the turntables for the final 45 minutes hot off his stunning back 2 back set with V.I.V.E.K at DMZ. You might think that they’d all be going home early in Holland, what with all that free flowing weed but Goth Trad kept them up all night and wanting more at his recent show at Hebron in Zwolle. Even after the lights went up, there was no let up.
His position as one of the top international dubstep artists was also recognised this week when he was called into the BBC this week to record an interview to be part of a documentary on the global dubstep scene. Watch this space for more info on that.
