Both Blu Mar Ten and Submerse feature on the new compilation ‘Blood Pressure’ from Hospital Records’ sister label Med School. Submerse’s track ‘Always, Like This’ stands out as a rather more chilled affair than the rest of the compilation, while ‘Last Life In The Universe‘ incorporates the rich and textured trademark production style of Blu Mar Ten on a track that lives up to its Asimov-ian title.

Submerse heads off to Japan on sabbatical at the beginning of February… as a self-confessed “Jpop obbsessive” and all round Japanophile, (that might not be a word… whatever, he really likes Japanese stuff) the lure of total immersion in the culture seems too good to resist.
In his own words, “I was out there djing in April last year and it really blew my mind. I’ve been a huge fan of the Japanese music since I was really young. I had a crazy obsession with Jpop when I was a kid and also Japanese Video Game music. I may only spend a year out there but I think it’s just something I have to do, there is a lot of amazing talent out there so it’s a really exciting place to be right now.’
Chances are he probably won’t be short of a few friends when he gets there either, this garage remix released on Maltine Records in August 2011 has clocked up 1.5 million views & counting on youtube! (download it free from the label blog). We wish him a safe and successful voyage and look forward to seeing him again this summer for a quick UK/European tour.
Meantime there’s no let up on the production front, with forthcoming releases on Hospital Records’ new imprint Med School, and R & S sister label Apollo, as well as his own new label No District.

Mutant Bass Records owner Kanji Kinetic and label favourite Submerse join forces on this EP, drawing on all their influences to create 4 dancefloor smashers.
Opener ‘NERV’ turns the epic factor up to new levels, showcasing both producers’ trademark sounds. Submerse’s ‘Oppai Misairu’ brings a garage twist while Kanji’s ‘Southern Cross’ combines rave sensibilities with jagged techno sounds. The pair’s second collaboration ‘Git Down’ finishes off the dancefloor with dark and fierce bass riffage.

Submerse continues his rapid rise to prominence in the future garage scene with 2 remixes currently out on Ministry Of Sound records. Away from Ministry Of Sound, Submerse’s latest release comes on the increasingly well regarded Bass=Win label headed up by Rico Tubbs and Terry Hooligan. ‘Railgun’ b/w ‘Strike Glitches’ sees Submerse up the tempo to show off the tougher side of his sound and is available now from Juno and other good record stores.
