From the tender age of 10 Nerm has loved music. and took to the turntables in 2000 as headline DJ at london’s Swaraj where wIth Drum & Bass as the backbone, other genres fell into the record box, from Breakbeat to Hip Hop, House to Garage and Classical Music
As the man behind the multi-faceted Shiva Soundsystem (artist collective / events / record label) Nerm has done everything from running events at London’s Herbal, DJ’d as part of a live act, and set up a record label.
Away from the studio, Nerm has also seen success as a broadcaster for media outlets including E! Channel (Venezuela), MTV India, BBCRADIO1, BBC 2 and BBC Asian Network.
Alongside D-Code, Nerm began a 16 month run on BBC Radio 1 including standing in for Mary Anne Hobbs, Ras Kwame and for 1Xtra’s Drum & Bass Mix Show as well as presenting alongside Annie Mac and Zane Lowe.
Nerm & D Code take over nihal’s Beats show on BBC Radio 1
Following their successful stint presenting on BBC Radio1’s ‘In New DJs we Trust’, Nerm and D-Code return to Radio 1 for one night only at midnight on July 27th 2010 in place of Nihal’s Beats show.
You can expect to hear a typically eclectic mix of eastern influenced beats, including dub step, drum n bass, electro, house and more besides.

Faze 2 are pleased to welcome Nerm & D Code onto the roster. From their BBC Radio 1 ‘In New DJs we Trust’ show, to their club rocking DJ sets, Nerm & D Code have been making big noise for a while now. Together they have played headline sets at festivals ranging from Glastonbury and Bestival, to Radio 1’s big weekend and won awards for both their gigs, their productions and their presenting work.
Nerm is the founder of Shiva Soundsystem, a multi-faceted, all encompassing entity which is a record label, artist collective, event management, publishing and more. His DJ sets bring together an eclectic mix of electro, dubstep, drum n bass and more. He’s toured all over the world as a DJ and performing as part of a live set up.
D Code is Shiva Soundsystem’s producer extraordinaire, who’s drum n bass productions have drawn support from some of the biggest players in the scene, including Andy C, London Electricity and Fabio to name a few. He’s also responsible for the huge ‘Annies Horn’ (video above) featured on DJ Hero (mashed up with DJ Shadow’s ‘Six Days’), D Code is now the lead remixer for the DJ Hero game.
