Error Operator are the next artists to enlist the production skills of Metronomy bass player and vocalist OLUGBENGA for their Mistakes Mk3 EP release, available now on itunes.

Currently on tour with Metronomy in promotion of their next album, OLUGBENGA’s time away from the band is taking up with an ever increasing number of DJ gigs, remixes and original productions.

OLUGBENGA’s new mix is more than just your average mixtape.
Replete with vocal samples which reference his Nigerian routes, alongside snippets and samples from a wide array of musical influences, all nestled amongst some original productions from the man himself, this mixtape is more akin to a live performance of original material, with a few samples thrown in.
This really is the sound of Olugbenga, even when its not original OLUGBENGA material – his unique stamp is always apparent. Dark and deep in places, uplifting and joyous in others, OLUGBENGA has approached the idea of a mixtape in a typically original fashion – Kanye West with Arcade Fire anyone?

The full mix is available for download via his soundcloud, and the individual tracks can be downloaded absolutely free from his blog the g is silent.  OLUGBENGA talks about the mix and the inspirations and influences of the tracks in an enlightening piece over at NME.com.

OLUGBENGA’s remix of Ezra Bang & Hot Machine’s ‘Cadillac’ single taken from ‘The New York EP’ is available for free download at soundcloud below.  The remix is typical of OLUGBENGA’s DJ style taking a fresh approach to the track and adding influences from other genres to flip the track totally and give it a whole new vibe creating a slower and funkier version of the original.

OLUGBENGA releases his mixtape ‘The G is Silent vol.2′ via NME.com FREE on 6th December 2010.

His new mixtape ‘The G is silent, Vol. 2′ is a snapshot of where OLUGBENGA is at right now: an exciting, vibrant crash of warped classics and brand new versions, to be released on December 6th via NME.com before he takes to the road for a string of DJ dates, ending with a show at the Barfly on Dec 11th.

OLUGBENGA pulls off the rare trick of sounding like nobody else, but completely of this moment.  The reaction to his recent podcast for the Bodytonic blog is testament to his skills as a DJ.

In the era of digital music when the CD is a retro piece of kit that kids think is too big and heavy to carry around, can we still call it a mixtape?  Whatever… the important thing is that OLUGBENGA just dropped this track over to us with a note to say that it would be featuring on his ‘mixtape’ which will be out in December.

The track is by EAN and features OLUGBENGA on vocals.  Yep, we told you he was multi-talented.  Here it is… enjoy!

The multi-talented OLUGBENGA from Metronomy has been making remixes for some time now, but this is his first outing as a producer in his own right and ‘Like An Angel With No Mercy” is an impressive debut single indeed.

OLUGBENGA has a host of shows this month, at a variety of clubs around London and beyond.  Despite the picture, he won’t be playing any golf clubs, thats just a mildly amusing flip on the ‘club’ thing.

Playing a mix of indie, electro, dubstep and more, mashing up styles and tracks using Ableton Live and utilising his talents as a remixer to create some very different sounds, OLUGBENGA’s DJ sets are a unique blend of tracks that you will have heard before in a way that you have never heard before, which have made him a popular booking for events such as London’s Bangers and Mash and brought him to the attention of those that matter at BBC Radio 1.
