To celebrate their 10,000th fan on Facebook, Schlachthofbronx have generously made a bunch of their edits available for free download. The fact they’ve reached 10,000 fans already demonstrates their continued popularity following the Chambucu EP (and subsequent remix EP featuring reworks by Solo, Samim, Toyselectah, Smutlee, Poirier and Tony Senghore) on Diplo’s Mad Decent.
Schlachthofbronx have been supported and played out by the likes of Toddla T and Rob Da Bank (both in their sets and on their Radio 1 shows) recently, which begs the question, when is the UK gonna wake up to these guys?!?

More Mad Decent news, this time for Schlachthofbronx. Their “Nasty Bass” EP is out on Beatport February 15th. The EP also features South African vocalists Spoek Mathambo and Bigspace (also featured in this vid), and brings their tried and tested afro baille-bass flavour to this release.
Early radio support on Radio 1 from Rob Da Bank and Toddla T, 9 outta 10’s from iDJ mag & features in xlr8r and 22tracks? I think it’s safe to say there’s some hype around this release.
Rumour is Mad Decent blog is giving away a free track from the EP too… awfully nice chap that Diplo fellow.

They also snuck a mention in DJ-Mag’s interview with main Man Daniel (above inset), but the most amazing thing is, they both spelled Schlachthofbronx correctly!

“Ayoba” is a slang term used by South Africans to express amazement.
It is derived from other slang terms, like “Ayeye” or “Ayoyoyo.” It was originally meant as an approval/appreciation of good dancing, although the exact origins of the phrase are unknown. It is thought to have roots in Johannesburg township culture. It is however, uniquely South African and expresses delight, excitement, agreement and approval. It is also used as a greeting.
So now you know! Out now on Man Recordings…
