If you haven’t yet encountered Stupid Fresh – without doubt the stupidest, FRESHEST purveyors of full-fat jacking house music anybody has heard this millennium – then well there hell have you been?
The rise of Stupid Fresh from virtual unknowns to download chart-roasting, scene-leading heroes of international renown and consistent . Being responsible for some of the most eye-wateringly effective dancefloor music of recent years, it’s hardly surprising, is it?
Stupid Fresh’s trademark blend of sledgehammer beats, elephantine bass, and lashings of groove has won support across the board from their peers, radio, bloggers and most importantly, dancefloors. Commended for sicker-than-an-ebola-outbreak dj sets, and have rubbed shoulders with names like Jesse Rose, Fergie and Richard Dinsdale.

They’re tunes have been played by MobyJudge Jules loved them so much after their appearance at Judgement Sundays in San Antonio that he invited them to stay another week, while a mammoth tour of Australia in 2008 led to Ministry of Sound selecting them for another Aussie jaunt this year.
Now, as Stupid Fresh sit astride the world of electronic dancefloor music like a veritable colossus, continuing to lead where many can only follow, they’ve turned their attention to a new live project, and also have a mix album in the pipeline for Vacation Records. With all this and more to look forward to, all the signs are pointing to 2009 being stupider, and indeed, fresher than any since. Watch out world.

Fast becoming vocalists of choice for the dance community, Virus Syndicate’s first collaboration to hit the shops is ‘Skank Out’ on Bombstrikes records, where they have teamed up with clubland hero Stupid Fresh and label boss Mickey Slim. Skank Out is the first in a string of collaborations with some heavyweight names in dance music, all of whom have turned to Manchester’s finest to vocal their tracks.
