Virus Syndicate are Manchester’s premier urban music act that have set the standard for British rapping both lyrcally and in style. Following 2 albums on Planet Mu their reputation as the UK’s leading vocal dubstep, hip hop and grime outfit. The combination of producer Mrk1’s inventive beat-making and MC’s JSD, Nika D and Goldfinger has attracted support from Liam Howlett, Tim Westwood, Mary Ann Hobbs and Wiley, comparisons with Dizzy Rascal, Wiley and Kano and praise from Hip Hop Connection to The Telegraph and The Guardian. Virus Syndicate tore apart Oxford’s FreeRange event last weekend and this is a clip of their awesome live show.

After the success of the ‘Breakout Trilogy’ series of EP releases in 2009, Virus Syndicate are releasing an album version which brings together all 3 EPs alongside 4 new productions including a collaboration with Kromestar.
Coming out on their own Contagious label, the album is due for release in all good record shops and online in April 2010 on CD and digital formats. Keen fans of Virus who can’t wait until April to get hold of the album will be able to buy it at Virus Syndicate shows direct from the band. With each of the Breakout Trilogy EPs recieving rave reviews across the board in 2009, this album is an essential collection of tracks for Virus fans.
Prior to the album release, their collaboration with Benga will be released as a single in March 2010.

Fast becoming vocalists of choice for the dance community, Virus Syndicate’s first collaboration to hit the shops is ‘Skank Out’ on Bombstrikes records, where they have teamed up with clubland hero Stupid Fresh and label boss Mickey Slim. Skank Out is the first in a string of collaborations with some heavyweight names in dance music, all of whom have turned to Manchester’s finest to vocal their tracks.

Another single taken from the new EP “The Antidote” this is the viral video for ‘Crazy’ another example of Virus Syndicate’s skill as lyricists and another strong example of their development as an act that create and perform high energy party dubstep. ‘Crazy’ exemplifies their humour and intelligence as MCs as they tell a story every guy out there can relate to (sorry girls but you know its true).

Taken from their new EP “The Antidote” this is the video for ‘Talk to Frank’ from Virus Syndicate. The Antidote EP is the 3rd in the Breakout Trilogy series of EPs released on Contagious Music. Both previous releases in this series have recieved great reviews and support from DJs, press and radio alike and The Antidote continues the trend.
Talk To Frank has been chosen for inclusion on the LA Dubstep Mixtape, a project put together by Snoop Dogg’s management and mixed by Plastician, which pairs up the best dubstep producers with big US Hip Hop MCs including Snoop, Xzibit and Eve amongst others. ‘Talk to Frank’ is the only all UK track on the CD, which demonstrates the respect for Virus Syndicate as MCs and producers!
