If Sylvester Martinez and Johnson Peterson, aka Yolanda Be Cool, were in the Carpenters, they would be singing “We’ve only just begun.”
With their first original, Afro Nuts being licensed to Fabric 49, mixed by Buraka Som Sistema, Wax On, mixed by Fake Blood, MASHED, mixed by Miami Horror and Beni as well as Neon Essential Vol 2 mixed by Grant Smillie, Don Diablo and Ruby Rose, Yolanda Be Cool has quickly become a familiar name.
In AND out of the studio, for these two cats that have more experience than their time as YBC would suggest, juxtaposition is everything. Bow ties and converse. Hip hop and techno. Animal noises and nightclubs. Pretty girls and tattoos. Unused hotel rooms. Or in their words, “party tech.”
And it is to their greatest satisfaction that their peers, such as Solo, Renaissance Man, Round Table Knights and Radioclit, Drop the Lime, Brodinski and Malente (to name but a few!) have been the ones most willing to first lay props on their tunes, not to mention radio support from Kissy Sellout and Sinden!

Huge congratulations are in order as Yolanda Be Cool take the UK charts by storm and hit the Number 1 spot with “We No Speak Americano”. With the track already Number 1 in most European countries, “Americano” is set to be the biggest tune of the summer and launch the Aussie duo to new found fame and fortune.
For those of you who missed out on this tour, we are taking interest now for a return visit, and new tour dates will be announced shortly.
In the meantime have a listen to their recent mini mix for Annie Mac’s Radio1 show, tracklist after the jump…

With the rest of Europe grounded due to the volcanic eruptions in Iceland, Yolanda Be Cool are flying high in the charts with their release “We No Speak Americano” (Yolanda Be Cool vs DCUP).
The track is currently No1 in the Beatport Electro Chart, and No2 in the overall chart! It’s due for worldwide release on Major labels soon, so expect to hear this one erupting on dancefloors near you over the summer.
In other news, the guys have just been enlisted by Swedish hipsters Discobelle to produce a remix and a new DJ mix for their blog, a sure fire sign that Yolanda Be Cool are well on their way to big things.
And if you needed any further proof… Herve has just re-released “Afro Nuts” on his Cheap Thrills label and licensed it for use in his “Ghetto Bass” mix series.
