It’s with great pleasure we announce the addition of Aquasky to the 2012 roster. Do we need to tell you who Aquasky are? Hardly.

True veterans of dance music, their latest (8th!) album ‘Raise The Devil‘ has been lauded as some of their best work to date, high praise indeed considering their span of work covers more than 16 years and covers every avenue of EDM from Acid House to Bass Music as we now know it.

Check out the all-star cast in their latest video (below); ‘Superbad’ ft. Ragga Twins, Pedro Slimer, M-TEK & Mr. Thing, taken from their 8th Studio album, ‘Raise The Devil’.

It’s been a minute since we caught up with our bro from Moscow Roby Howler. He’s been busy in the studio putting the finishing touches to the first releases of 2012, expect to see several new tracks and EPs dropping on various labels in the near future.

Done for a recent Trouble & Bass competition, download Roby’s unofficial remix of Drop The Lime below. Unfortunately Roby’s remix didn’t win the comp, but has struck a chord with the likes of Hostage nevertheless.

And watch out for his (official) remix of The Whip, coming soon on Southern Fried Records:

Submerse: Turning Japanese

Submerse heads off to Japan on sabbatical at the beginning of February… as a self-confessed “Jpop obbsessive” and all round Japanophile, (that might not be a word… whatever, he really likes Japanese stuff) the lure of total immersion in the culture seems too good to resist.

In his own words, “I was out there djing in April last year and it really blew my mind. I’ve been a huge fan of the Japanese music since I was really young. I had a crazy obsession with Jpop when I was a kid and also Japanese Video Game music. I may only spend a year out there but I think it’s just something I have to do, there is a lot of amazing talent out there so it’s a really exciting place to be right now.’

Chances are he probably won’t be short of a few friends when he gets there either, this garage remix released on Maltine Records in August 2011 has clocked up 1.5 million views & counting on youtube! (download it free from the label blog). We wish him a safe and successful voyage and look forward to seeing him again this summer for a quick UK/European tour.

Meantime there’s no let up on the production front, with forthcoming releases on Hospital Records’ new imprint Med School, and R & S sister label Apollo, as well as his own new label No District.

‘Always, Like This’ – Submerse [Forthcoming Med School]

‘They Always Come Back’ – Submerse [Forthcoming Apollo]

‘Oblivion’ (mini mix) - Toilet Delight [Forthcoming No District] (Original, MoeClick, Submerse & Resketch Remixes)

After a very successful 2011 which saw his music supported by big names such as Laidback Luke, Congorock, Jaymo and Andy George, Malente and Fedde Le Grand, Birdee returns with a double tracker on Southern Fried Records for his first release of 2012.
First off is Blowin’ Up, a collaboration with italian turbofunkers Reset!, who surely need no introduction having released a string of successful Ep’s on Cheap Thrills and remixed everyone from Cassius to Robyn.
The second track, You Like It, is a solo effort from Birdee and is a big room stomper with a full on disco breakdown – already tested on some of the world’s hottest dancefloors.
To brighten up the January blues, Birdee has also decided to give away for free his take on the Chic classic Everybody Dance…guaranteed to make those booties shake on the dancefloor!
