It’s Mutant Bass time again! Kanji Kinetic’s label strives to bring you cutting edge bass music from established and up-and-coming artists alike, and this release is no different. Ireland’s Deadlybuzz spews forth an EP of dark techno-bassline, ranging from ominous atmospheric vibes to straight-up dancefloor damagers, available to download from the Mutant Bass Records website. Pay what you see fit, or simply download for free… you can’t say much fairer than that.
Watch out for Mutant Bass on tour in Kanji’s hometown of Bristol 16th December, when Submerse and Kanji will be letting loose for the Brock Out Christmas Rave at Timbuk2.
Detboi teams up with Hot City Bass’ DJ Haus on this new track, due for release early next year. Many thanks to Rob Da Bank for giving it an exclusive play on his Radio1 ‘Garage Special’ from Maida Vale last weekend.
Last weekend Oxford Circus Topman in London was packed to the rafters with some of the biggest names in dance music for the CALM (or Campaign Against Living Miserably) takeover. Hosted by Eddy Temple Morris and Zane Lowe, shoppers were treated to an all-star lineup including Dan Le Sac, Mistajam, Kissy Sellout, Rob Da Bank, Huw Stephens & The Loose Cannons to name but a few.
Cheap Thrills boss Hervé also went back to back with our man Baxta and did their bit for the campaign, which provides a free, anonymous and confidential helpline for young men suffering depression or simply having trouble dealing with life’s stresses, rather than shouldering the burden alone.
If you’d like to know more about the CALM campaign, head over to their website and get involved with a very worthwhile cause.
Submerse has released a new EP on Bandcamp, three tracks of sublime garage available to download in MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.
Check out Jay Robinson’s mini-mix for The Remix hosted by Eddy Temple Morris on XFM which aired this weekend. 70 tracks of House, Hip Hop and everything in between in 10 minutes!
Out today on U&A Recordings, “Who Do You Love?” by Peo De Pitte. The feedback and support reads like a who’s who of DJ world, and if this track is anywhere near as successful as Peo’s last venture on Elite Force’s U&A (Berlosconi/Burning Up), it’ll be huge.
Sales and reviews of Blu Mar Ten’s latest album ‘Love Is The Devil’ have been massive to say the least – everyone is loving it.
it went straight into the top ten in the iTunes UK dance chart, and into the top twenty in the US chart, which is pretty amazing for a small, independent outfit releasing on their own label.
If you haven;t checked out the album yet, here’s a few review samples:
‘All too often in drum and bass you can listen to 30 seconds of a track and make what you think is a firm judgement on it. When something comes along that defies that principle it can only serve to benefit the genre and music as an art form as a whole‘ – Everydayjunglist.com
‘Sometimes beatiful, sometimes poignant, sometimes aggressive but always lovingly crafted‘ – Drumandbasics.com
And here’s what people who know about these things are saying:
‘Beeeautiful! This is a proper #OneMoreTune – lights off eyes closed’ – Tom Middleton
‘The new Blu Mar Ten album – my soundtrack for the week’ – Mosus / Need For Mirrors
‘Another fantastic release you should pick up is the new Blu Mar Ten album’ – Hospital Records
‘Drifting away to the sound of the beautiful Blu Mar Ten album’ – Teebee

Peo De Pitte returns to Elite Force’s U&A Recordings, next week with his new single “Who Do You Love?”.
It would seem that a more appropriate question would be, “Who loves the new single?”… the answer being, “everyone”.
