Sheffield has delivered some great vocalists over the years (Steve Edwards and Pete Simpson to name two) and now breakthrough Steel City singer, MC and beatboxer, Jon Rice joins this list. ‘Saving Me’ sees HeavyFeet take on the bubbling broken beat scene to great effect, focusing on pulsating, chromatic synth chords, chunky, live drum breaks and an array of traditional broken beat instrumentation as Rice (recently compared to London vocal starlet Ben Westbeech) belts out a wonderfully simple, jazzy vocal hook.
